Why We ♡ Bright Pink And All They Stand For

1. Bright Pink's beautiful mission to put awareness into action.

While it's important to spread awareness, we need to do more to make a difference.

Bright Pink's efforts go beyond spreading awareness. From the various programs they offer women (including support groups, genetic counseling and more), to the educational resources they provide, they're empowering women to take charge of their health today.

2. They're changing the way we approach Breast and Ovarian Cancer.

We all know that breast and ovarian cancer can affect women at any age. Yet, many of us aren't taking action until we're older and our risk for developing these cancers are higher.

Bright Pink is making strides to change this. They want women of ALL ages to know their level of risk and to develop healthy habits and early detection strategies at a young age. In fact, they're the only national non-profit organization focused on prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women.

3. Their "What's My Risk?" tool can help you make better informed decisions about your health.

Bright Pink's "Assess Your Risk" tool makes it easy to assess your individual level of risk for breast and ovarian cancer. By knowing where you stand on the spectrum of low to high risk and how to reduce that risk, you're able to make more informed decisions when it comes to your health.

It only takes 5 minutes to complete and as Bright Pink puts it, "Your body. Your life. Don't leave it up to chance." Assess your risk here!

4. Their "What's Your Normal?" tool lets us know what to look for.

Many of us know that it's important to perform breast self-exams, but what are you supposed to look for? How do you decide if something is normal or, if you should see your doctor? And what about ovarian cancer?

Bright Pink's "What Your Normal?" tool gives you detailed directions on how to perform a breast self-exam as well as, how to be ovarian self-aware. They also give you informative answers on what changes to look for and when it's time to see your doctor.

5. They'll text you once a month as a reminder to be Breast Self Aware.

During Breast Cancer Awareness month, our breast health may be on the top of our to-do list, but what about the rest of the year? Bright Pink offers monthly Breast Health Reminder texts (they're free!) to give you the extra nudge you need. To join, text PINK to 59227!
